Open City Documentary Festival

What does £7,000 of documentary funding give to the world? A fine piece of audio brilliance, that’s

what. Join us for a special live performance and world premiere of Isis Thompson’s 2018 RAFA

(Radio & Audio Funding Award) winning work. Charting a new growing landscape of activism in the

UK, the piece will be performed in collaboration with composer Axel Kacoutié. The audio showcase

will be followed by a Q&A with Isis Thompson.

After, comedian and presenter Hardeep Singh Kohli hosts the presentation of this year’s RAFA and DARA awards. Following the live pitch (page 52) earlier in the afternoon, one of the five RAFA finalists will be awarded £7000 to make their audio documentary, with £3000 for a runner-up. £3000 will also be given to a completed project through the DARA (Documentary Audio Recognition Award), with £1000 for the runner-up. There will be networking drinks in the foyer between each part of the audio afternoon, featuring free beer and fun activities.
