The Nightingale

1825, Tasmania. A young Irish convict woman hires a local guide to help her track a British officer and his unit through the rough wilderness, motivated by revenge for a terrible act of violence. The film is simultaneously a howling, rage-filled scream and a meditation on the consequences of violence, revenge, tolerance and understanding.

“Aisling Franciosi delivers a tour de force as an Australian woman determined to put a stake through the heart of toxic masculinity. You won’t know what hit you.” – Rolling Stone
