The Invisible Man

Scroll down

A quirk of circumstance led to Claude Rains’ American film debut and his big break as a horror star after Karloff turned down the role of Dr. Griffin – H.G. Wells’ scientist turned spectral psychopath. Made invisible by an experimental drug – and helped along by some impressive matte work and trick photography from a team led by John P. Fulton – Rains conjures his considerable screen presence through voice alone.
