Face to Face with German Talent: The German Film Weekend

Coming to UK screens in September, courtesy of Signature Entertainment

London Premiere

You won’t want to miss the London premiere the chilling black & white drama The Captain. Chancing upon an abandoned uniform, a Wehrmacht deserter poses as a Nazi captain in the final weeks of the war, and finds himself disturbingly well-suited to the job. Robert Schwentke’s bristling, Mephisto-like parable has harsh lessons for the rank and file.

After working with some of the biggest names in Hollywood on such films as Flightplan, The Time Traveller’s Wife, R.E.D., R.I.P.D., Divergent – Insurgent and Divergant – Allegiant, director Robert Schwentke returned to his native language for The Captain and casts a spotlight on some of the hottest German-speaking actors today like Alexander Fehling. The screening will be preceded by a short introduction to the historical events portrayed in the film.
