Seret International

In this beautifully observed and superbly-acted film, a troubled teen’s desperate efforts to unite his broken family spin out of control. Noble Savage, a modern ‘Greek tragedy’ based on Dudi Busi’s novel, was nominated for ten Israeli Academy Awards including Best Film.

Almost everything in 15-year-old Eli’s life is on the brink of disaster. Trying to deal with an eating disorder, he lives in a seedy and violent Tel Aviv suburb with his ex-junky mother and her possessive husband, while his alcoholic father is an unemployed artist and street philosopher. Eli tries to escape his parents’ messed up lives and be the responsible adult, to fight and to win, but his attempts are heading for catastrophe.
