Maria (Y Los Dema)

María is a thirty-something woman working in a small publishing house, who has an on and off romance with a separated man. Since the death of her mother she has also been taking care of her father and siblings. After her father’s announcement of marriage to his nurse, María feels her world is crumbling and, in a comic and clumsy way, tries to secure things in her life and find her place in the world. A deep insight into the world of a woman by a woman filmmaker that avoids any stereotypical trap showing an admirable independence of spirit that finds its match in Lennie’s wonderful performance.
