Jan Nemec Retrospective

Stylized semi-autobiographical reflections based on Nemec‘s imaginary dialogue with his mother and inspired by Kafka’s A Letter to his Father. Casting Karel Roden as his alter ego Němec contemplates the major events of the 20th century and his personal life while travelling by tram around Prague. With a star-studded cast including president Václav Havel, Eric Clapton, Marta Kubišová and Saul Zaents, this is a film full of originality and poetry. Winner at the 2001 Locarno Film Festival.
