Halston

From Iowa to Studio 54 to Wall Street, Halston lived an American dream. Prodigiously talented, he reigned over fashion in the 1970s, becoming a household name. But everything changes in the Wall Street era. With his empire under threat, Halston takes the biggest gamble of his life.

Halston captures the epic sweep of the life and times of legendary designer Roy Halston Frowick, the man who wanted to “dress all of America”. Acclaimed filmmaker Frédéric Tcheng (Dior & I) expertly weaves rare archival footage and intimate interviews with Halston’s friends, family and collaborators including Liza Minnelli.

Studio 54

1970s New York. One nightclub defines an era and a generation. For the first time, one of the people behind the infamous Studio 54 tells the in-depth story of how the world’s greatest nightclub was created.

Studio 54 was the epicenter of ‘70s hedonism – a place that not only redefined the nightclub, but also came to symbolize an entire era. Its co-owners, Ian Schrager and Steve Rubell, two friends from Brooklyn, seemed to come out of nowhere to suddenly preside over a new kind of New York society. Now, 39 years after the velvet rope was first slung across the club’s hallowed threshold, a feature documentary tells the real story behind the greatest club of all time.
