London Spanish Film Festival

During the Spanish Civil War Teresa is working for the Republican government overseeing the news that journalists can send abroad. As fate would have it she meets Henry, a cynical American correspondent, in the little Basque village of Gernika, protagonist of the infamous bombing by Franco’s troups that shakes the world and was later immortalised by Picasso. Gernika is an intimate story going beyond itself as well as a meditation on ethics and idealism in the context of a brutal conflict.
