The OZ Film Festival is proud to present the European premiere of Ellipsis as our 2018 festival opening night gala.
Join actor David Wenham (Lord of the Rings, Lion, 300, Top of the Lake) when he “pops in” to introduce his directorial debut film live on stage.
Viv (Emily Barclay) is killing time in Sydney, waiting to fly to London the next day. When she crashes into a stranger, Jasper (Benedict Samuel), on the street and breaks her phone, the pair decide take a chance, and embark on an adventure across Sydney that will transform their lives deeply.
Far from a trite romance, this directorial debut from beloved Australian actor David Wenham is a pure delight.
The wonderful performances of an ensemble cast, the meanderings of the night’s escapades and the characters they encounter along the way, make this an utterly believable and enchanting piece of cinema.
Ellipsis will be preceded by the short film Grace (15:00min) directed by Alex Holmes who was the Artistic Director on the internationally successful Australian horror film, Babadook.
The film will be followed by a drinks reception, generously supported by the Australian High Commission.
Australian snack and lollies (sweets) will be on sale on the night (cash only) and each ticket holder will receive a goodie bag with a new release novel by an Australian author.
