An inspiring portrait of a fascinating, indefatigable woman, the vivacious and utterly charming world-famous 92-year-old opera singer Sona Cervena

The charming and vivacious 92-year-old opera singer, Sona Cervena tells her incredible personal story reflecting 20th century European history. Having lost her father in a Nazi concentration camp and her surviving mother in a communist prison after the communist takeover, Soňa herself, now a celebrated artist, began to fear for her life. Taking advantage of an invitation to join the Berlin State Opera she fled to the West carving a new career for herself, creating 100 roles in 5,000 performances on stages all over the world, returning home in 1989 after 30 years of exile. Drawing on a rich personal archive, this is an inspiring portrait of a fascinating, unfaltering woman who always strove to maintain her integrity.
