Scalarama: Nowness in association with the London Short Film Festival presents: 5 Days of Darkness

To mark the annual occasion of World Goth Day (which emerges out of the dewy spring ground like a field of narcissi on 22 May), this year culture channel NOWNESS designed five days of dark and seditious programming that sheds light on this greatly cherished, though oft-misunderstood subculture. Now is the perfect time for goth—which first emerged in late 70s Britain and has since scattered across the world as a sensibility that encourages considered dissent, non-binary inclusion, personal expression, arch camp, and creativity from the margins—to rise triumphant. This programme, presented in association with London Short Film Festival, offers some highlights from this special collection.
