San Francisco (1968) + Zabriskie Point (1970) + Introduction
Two films about revolt and revolution on America’s West Coast featuring music by Pink Floyd. The first, a juddering, freeze-framed portrait of America’s crucible of counterculture, San Francisco, features a rare early demo of Pink Floyd’s classic track, “Interstellar Overdrive.” Michelangelo Antonioni’s under-appreciated countercultural epic, Zabriskie Point, follows an anarchist on the run who escapes to the Californian desert and embarks on a journey of revelation in Death Valley. Antonioni’s film features music by Pink Floyd, Kaleidoscope, and the Grateful Dead.
The screening is introduced by series curator Sophia Satchell-Baeza.DramaPT2H10M152026-05-24
