Barbet Schroeder’s first feature, More (1969), is a sun-drenched tale of doomed love and heroin addiction on the beautiful island of Ibiza. Falling foul of the British censors, the film’s cult-classic status was in part due to Pink Floyd’s original score. Paired with More is Kevin Whitney’s twin-screen student film, Psychedelia: Another Day at the Office (1969), a study of faces in light. Psychedelia stars Pink Floyd’s frontman and lyricist, Syd Barrett, who, by that point, had left the band, having just returned from a trip to Ibiza.
The screening is introduced by Jenny Fabian, author of Groupie (1969), and series curator Sophia Satchell-Baeza.RomancePT2H22M182026-05-24
