MUBI Notebook Presents: Eve’s Bayou + Panel

<p>To celebrate Issue 9 of Notebook, MUBI’s biannual print magazine, Regent Street Cinema presents a special screening of Kasi Lemmons’s spellbinding 1997 classic Eve’s Bayou. Set in 1960s Louisiana, this Southern Gothic coming-of-age tale follows 10-year-old Eve as she discovers the secrets beneath her family’s seemingly idyllic existence. A haunting exploration of memory, family and the supernatural, the film remains a masterpiece of American cinema.</p><p>Devoted to the theme of magic, Issue 9 of Notebook features “The Notebook Coven,” in which four filmmakers, including Lemmons herself, explore the role of magic in their work.
