The most important thing to us right now is ensuring the safety of our staff and guests. And we know it’s not just about being safe, it’s also about feeling safe. We want you to be able to relax and enjoy your film, without needing to worry about anything else.
Following the government’s announcement that all COVID restrictions will soon be relaxed, we’re going to be making some changes. We know you’re going to have questions and concerns, so let us put your mind at rest…
After 19 July, social distancing rules will no longer apply. To help you feel comfortable, though, we’re keeping our allocated seating system in place. So when you book your tickets, you’ll be able to choose your seats – and we’ll ask everyone to please stick to their pre-booked seats.
As Regent Street Cinema is a single-screen cinema, you won’t find yourself running into crowds of people leaving one screening just as you arrive for yours. Our screening times are staggered, so the number of people in the building at any one time will be limited.
Our staff will continue to wear face masks at all times and you have the option to continue wearing yours.
We’ve installed new screens at the bar, too, and would ask that, if possible, you pay using a contactless card or device. That all helps to minimise contact between you and people outside your household.
It can be a bit nerve-racking to sit indoors, after spending so long socialising outdoors. Don’t worry, though – our air conditioning system ensures that there’s constant airflow throughout the building, and that fresh air from the outside is constantly being cycled through.
All of our staff will also continue to wear masks at all times, for your safety.
Rest assured that keeping everything clean is top of our agenda. Our staggered screening times mean that there’s extra time for us to clean the auditorium between films. High-touch points, like door handles and bathrooms, are cleaned regularly throughout the day.
And we’ve provided hand sanitising stations throughout the cinema, so you can feel confident that your hands are clean after you’ve touched anything.
We know Transport For London have rolled out a comprehensive cleaning regime, too, using hospital-grade cleaners across all high-touch points on the network. All modes of transport are designed to have constant airflow throughout – both because of their air conditioning systems, and because they’re always moving and opening doors at every station, meaning the air inside is completely refreshed every few minutes.
For extra peace of mind, it’s worth knowing that in independent research carried out by Imperial College London since last September, no traces of the virus have been found in samples taken from stations, tubes, or buses. All the surfaces you’d normally touch in the course of taking public transport – handles, escalator rails, buttons, Oyster touch points – were swabbed, and air samples from inside stations, buses, and trains, and in every case, the TFL network was shown to be safe.
You can drop us a line ahead of your visit via email, phone, or social media. If you have any questions while you’re with us, too, you can speak to a member of staff – all of our staff members have undergone training on COVID safety, and will be happy to explain any of our precautions to you. We’re here to make sure the only thing you need to pay attention to is the story unfolding on the big screen in front of you…
